Non-Traditional Pathways to Success for Minority Entrepreneurs

Let's Talk About the Non-Traditional Pathways to Success for Minority Entrepreneurs

Sylvester Gardine is the owner of VeniStat LLC. His company has provided phlebotomy and COVID testing for citizens nationwide since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Sylvester holds a B.S in Psychology and a B.A. in Africana Studies from Stony Brook University. He also holds a degree in Molecular Biology from University at Buffalo.

Sylvesters company, VeniStat, has been able to provide services to patients that may otherwise be unable to reach out to patient service centers for phlebotomy procedures.

VeniStat has been able to hire dozens of team members for his company nationwide during the pandemic and amidst an unfortunately high level of unemployment.

Sylvester is also a Federal Government contractor of which his company is currently providing mobile phlebotomy support for COVID-related clinical trials from the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Sylvester has been proud of his accomplishment so far in the entrepreneurial space as well as in academia. However, he has an ultimate passion for being a mentor for at-risk children and adolescents to help guide them towards STEM fields and Business Ownership.

He is currently working with numerous companies and organizations to help move his initiative of support forward. His plan is to push for further diversity and inclusion in academia and entrepreneurship.
