The Future of Work or the Work of the Future
How is the world of work changing?
How have sought-after credentials changed?
How are jobs being impacted by technology and artificial intelligence?
What skills are being desired by employers ?
Q & A
So much of how we think about work and jobs is wrong. People still dispute whether blue-collar jobs or white-collar jobs should be encouraged or discouraged. This two-track approach worked for most of the 20th Century but no longer.
The choice for many was to pursue a college career or learn a trade. Today’s workers, blue-collar and white-collar jobs, bear little resemblance to the past generation. Technology skills have become a requirement along with higher level skills in critical thinking, communication and working with teams.
What is emerging is a growing number of jobs that demand these skills and can be earned by those who earn a credential such as a certificate or industry-recognized certification. Employers still like college degrees, but are looking for specific skills sets relevant to their company or industry. This presentation explores the changing world of work and acquiring new skill sets sought by employers today.
